How I wish that you were here again
How I wish that you were here again

But if I could see you
And touch you with my hand
If I could feel you
But I know damn well I can't   (Honey, honey, honey, yeah)

How I wish that you were here again
How I wish I had you near again    (Honey, honey, honey, yeah)

If I could see you
Oh just now and then
But if I could feel you
Well I'd do my time again    (Honey, honey, honey, yeah)

(Honey, honey, honey, yeah)

(Honey, honey, honey, yeah)

If I could kiss you
Caress you now and then
Ooh just to thrill you
I'd do life again    (Honey, honey, honey, yeah)

(Yeah)

(Honey, honey, honey, yeah)

How I wish that you were here again    (Honey, honey, honey, yeah)
How I wish that you were here again    (Honey, honey, honey, yeah)

(Honey, honey, honey, yeah)

Oh...
    (Honey, honey, honey, yeah)
How I wish that you were here again    (Honey, honey, honey, yeah)
How I wish that you were here again    (Honey, honey, honey, yeah)

(Honey, honey, honey, yeah)
(Honey, honey, honey, yeah)
(Honey, honey, honey, yeah)

TrackTalk

Actually, that was the first track we recorded. The more I got into it, the more I realized that I didn't have to keep verses and choruses the same length.

- Keith Richards, 1988

We'd let things evolve just by playing. Like in the song How I Wish, those guitar stabs, those syncopations. Nobody can play those parts like Keith. So I'd just go the other way and play straight through. So if Keith's doing this dotted eighth-note figure and I'm keeping the straight eighth-notes going under that, when you hear it back, it sounds like ten guitars working together.

- Waddy Wachtel, 1988
