Listen darling
Who's going to hold and squeeze me tight
Now that she's gone out of my life?
Who's going to make me feel the way she used to do
Now that my love is overdue?
Now that my love is overdue
Well I'm all alone in the wilderness
Searching to find some peace and rest
She wasn't the best girl (but she brought happiness into my world)
And now I'm a prisoner of loneliness, yeah
That I'm a prisoner of loneliness (now I'm a prisoner)
That's what I am (now I'm a prisoner, now I'm a prisoner of
loneliness)
Listen darling
Whose voice is going to say goodnight
Now that she's gone out of my sight?
Who's going to tell me lies and let me think they're true
And now that my love is overdue?
Now that my love is overdue
Now that my love is overdue
I just don't know what to do honey, baby
Stop making me blue
Stop it baby - yeah, Jamaican (now I'm a prisoner) (stop making
me blue)
Now I'm a prisoner - yes I'm a prisoner (stop making me blue)
(...) you (now I'm a prisoner) (stop making me blue)
Stop it baby (now I'm a prisoner) (stop making me blue)
Stop it, stop it (now I'm a prisoner) (stop making me blue)
Stop it baby, baby - baby, baby - stop making me blue (now I'm a prisoner)
(Now I'm a prisoner)
TrackTalk
It's one of the many great songs (Gregory
Isaacs) wrote that I've always wanted to do. So I indulged myself. And
Steve Jordan can really play reggae, with insight from listening to
great drummers like Sly
Dunbar
and Horsemouth. It's just a natural thing with him. Love Overdue is a
song I've had a soft spot for forever. I miss Gregory dearly.
