Say look-a here, want to see my gun?
It's a Uzi and it packs a lot of punch
It sure is loud, I got it fixed
You want to feel, you want to touch this little
bitch?
I want to testify
It's a crazy world out there
I want to tell you now
It's a brutal world out there
I'm just a mother of a man
I've got the stopper in my hand
Judge and jury help me please
Ain't going to get down on my knees - oh no
God help me now
Oh
You know my wife, she don't feel safe
Since we had a lot of trouble near our place
These kids are poor, I know it's hard
But why do they have to do it in their own
backyard?
I want to testify
That it's a crazy world out there
I don't have to tell you about it
It's a barbaric world out there
I'm just a mother of a man
I want to take the witness stand
Judge and jury help me please
The sirens sound, the streets all bleed
I'm just a mother of a man
Mm, just a mother of a man - oh yeah
God help me now
I want to testify, hey
That it's a crazy, crazy, crazy world out
there
I want to tell you now
That it's a barbaric world out...
I'm just a mother of a man
I want to take the witness stand
Judge and jury help me please
The sirens cry, the streets all bleed
I'm just a mother of a man
Here I stand, here I stand
I'm just a mother of a man
Yeah, a mother of a man - oh yeah
God help me now
Oh all right, all right
All right
Oh, oh...
Ow, ow, mother of a man
Ah, mother, mother of a
Ah, mother of a man
Ow, ow, ow - I'm a mother
Ow, all right - all right
Oh, ow, mother, yeah
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Oh yeah
TrackTalk
Mother of a Man was a reaction to the L.A.
riots by someone whose response was to go and buy a gun, which a lot of
friends of mine seemed to be doing. They'd go and buy a gun and join the
Hollywood Gun Club and get their marksmanship up to scratch. I saw all
these people doing gun practice when I did a picture (Freejack)
down there. I hadn't used guns in a long while and I needed to look the
part for the movie... (G)uns are not something I want in my life.
