Well run, run, Rudolph
Santa's got to make it to town
Santa's in a hurry
Tell him he can take the freeway down
Then away went Rudolph
And a-reeling like a merry-go-round
Santa to a boy child
What have you been hoping for?
And all I want for Christmas
Is a rock and roll electric guitar
Then away went Rudolph
Whizzing like a shooting star
Well run, run, Rudolph
Santa's got to make it to town
Well make it in a hurry
Tell him he can take the freeway down
Then away went Rudolph
And a-reeling like a merry-go-round
Said Santa to a girl child
What'd it please you most to get?
A little baby doll
That can cry, drink, sleep and wet
Then away went Rudolph
Whizzing like a streaking jet
Well run, run, Rudolph
Santa's got to make it to town
Well Santa's in a hurry
Tell him he can take the freeway down
Then away went Rudolph
And a-reeling like a merry-go-round
Yeah run, run, Rudolph
Santa's got to make it to town
Well Santa's in a hurry
Tell him he can take the freeway down
Then away went Rudolph
And a-reeling like a merry-go-round
TrackTalk
I put that out. I just wanted to put out a Christmas record, why not? I had it around for a while - stick it out.
To me it's the hippest Christmas song there is, you know. I mean once again Chuck Berry... beautiful lyrics, a beautiful, joyful feeling about it, and it tells the story, short and snappy. And what a great track. And the sound of it is amazing. And I've always just said I've got to have a bash at that. And Ronnie and I, I think we were in L.A. actually (sic), and I threw a bass on. And Ian Stewart was with us on that. Actually it was just done out of sheer fun. I mean that's the thing with Christmas songs, you know, once a year you can pull them out (laughs).
