TrackTalk
I had the title and the first line, You made the wrong motion, drank the wrong potion, but apart from that, I couldn't come up with any ideas. I said to Steve (Jordan), I don't know what to write this fucking thing about. I'm stuck. And he said, When in doubt, write about Mick. So in a way, it's not totally about Mick. Just about friends who disappoint you sometimes. That's the truth of the matter on that one. It's kind of like All About You. Man, I must really enjoy singing put downs!
To me it was mixture of various feelings about
various times and various people. It's not so pointed in actual fact.
(T)he weirdest thing is that when I wrote You Don’t Move Me,
actually it wasn’t about what everybody thinks it’s about. It just
became obvious, but it wasn’t about that. It just sort of went that
way... I won’t mention her name. All right?
It depends on how (Mick) takes certain things. If he takes the song as a put down and that's all, that would be a mistake. It's just an expression of what I think went down. A little diary of events. Hey, you know, he shouldn't take it so hard!
There's so many (guitar) overdubs. The slides
are definitely Waddy, but I also play licks that sound like slide.
