You made the wrong motion
Drank the wrong potion
You lost the feeling
That's so appealing

Why do you think you've got no friends?
You drove them around the bend

Ah yeah
You don't move me anymore

(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah) ...move me anymore

(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

Now you want to throw the dice
   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
You already crapped out twice   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

Ah yeah
   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
Ah yeah
   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
You just don't move me anymore   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

One face so seamy
   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
The other don't see me   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

It's better that you kill the light   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
You're giving us all a fright   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

Ah yeah
   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
You just don't move me anymore   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

How you going to keep your wealth?
Can't even defend yourself
   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

Ah yeah
   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
Ah no
   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
You just don't move me anymore   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

What makes you so greedy?
   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
Makes you so seedy?   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
Ooh-ooh   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

No matter how you flip that dime   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
On our side is time   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
Ah yeah   (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
Ah yeah
Ah yeah, mm-mm
Mmm-mmm
Ah yeah

It's no longer funny
It's bigger than money

You just don't move me anymore

TrackTalk

I had the title and the first line, You made the wrong motion, drank the wrong potion, but apart from that, I couldn't come up with any ideas. I said to Steve (Jordan), I don't know what to write this fucking thing about. I'm stuck. And he said, When in doubt, write about Mick. So in a way, it's not totally about Mick. Just about friends who disappoint you sometimes. That's the truth of the matter on that one. It's kind of like All About You. Man, I must really enjoy singing put downs!

- Keith Richards, 1988

To me it was mixture of various feelings about various times and various people. It's not so pointed in actual fact.

- Keith Richards, 1988

(T)he weirdest thing is that when I wrote You Don’t Move Me, actually it wasn’t about what everybody thinks it’s about. It just became obvious, but it wasn’t about that. It just sort of went that way... I won’t mention her name. All right?

- Keith Richards, 2020

It depends on how (Mick) takes certain things. If he takes the song as a put down and that's all, that would be a mistake. It's just an expression of what I think went down. A little diary of events. Hey, you know, he shouldn't take it so hard!

- Keith Richards, 1988

There's so many (guitar) overdubs. The slides are definitely Waddy, but I also play licks that sound like slide.

- Keith Richards, 1988
