Woo hoo

I can hear people talking
I can see people walking, yeah
'Cause troubles a' coming in more ways than one - woo hoo

You can take me away from here
Lord I don't have no fear, yeah

'Cause troubles a' coming
Best believe that that ain't all
'Cause troubles a' coming
In more ways than one

Get it together

After giving all I've given
What should I say, Excuse me for living? Yeah
'Cause I'm in a prison and love is the key - woo hoo

Somebody got to get it together
Come on, we got to make it better, yeah

'Cause troubles a' coming
Best believe that that ain't all
Troubles a' coming
I can hear it when it calls - oh yeah

Get it together

Get it together

(Hear the people talking) Hear the people talking
(See the people walking) Oh walking

(Hear the people talking) Talking all together - yeah

All right

Everybody's so divided
Misled and misguided
Nobody wants to see two points of view - oh no

'Cause we live in a crazy system
Yeah, what they will do with their wisdom, yeah

'Cause troubles a' coming
It ain't going nowhere - mm
'Cause troubles a' coming
In more ways than one

If you get it together, oh yeah
Mm-mm-mm

(Hear the people talking) Yeah
Hear the people talking
(See the people walking) See the people walking, yeah

(Hear the people talking) Old man trouble, old man trouble

(See the people walking) Stay away from me now, yeah, yeah, yeah
(Hear the people talking) Old man trouble, stay away from me now, now yeah

(See the people walking) Old man... see the people walking

(Hear the people talking)

(See the people walking)

(Hear the people talking)

TrackTalk

Well, we did throw (material) away a lot. Some of them – there’s no top line, no lyrics, they’re in bits and pieces. Some are cover versions like Troubles A’ Comin. But we never finished it. It didn’t have proper vocals or finished guitar solos.

- Mick Jagger, September 2021

The Chi-Lites song Troubles A' Comin was my idea and we did it and we threw it out. Because sometimes we would just, in the studio, we'd just say, Hey, let's do this song just to warm up. And I realized later that was a very warm track.

- Keith Richards, October 2021

Troubles A' Comin was a cover version so that's kind of finished. It's a song already existing which is great, Yeah, I like that one, that's gonna work! Because that's a song I don't have to write the lyrics for (laughs). Then in the end I had to write some lyrics cause there wasn't enough for my own... I wrote an extra verse. But then I had to ask (the copyright holders), I'm sorry, I wrote an extra verse, is that all right? But that was kind of easy in a way. And then Ronnie put a guitar solo on it, there wasn't one there.

- Mick Jagger, September 2021
